This Season's Charity - Tiverton Breakfast on the GO

St George & St Pauls Tiverton is based in the heart of West Exe Tiverton. All we do stems from our desire to love God and love our Neighbour!

Breakfast on the Go was birthed when the breakfast club at a local school had to close due to funding cuts, and as a church we felt a responsibility to the many children, some who didn’t get breakfast and for others who walked past and through our churchyard each day! Ultimately our aim is to ensure that children and young people have access to a breakfast and drink each week regardless of the individual need. 

In 2019 we started serving bacon rolls, porridge, hot chocolate, Tea & Coffee from 7:30am-9am each Thursday during term time all for free! Funded entirely through the generosity of church members. Breakfast on the go is a practical expression of the church to meet the needs of our community and offer help and support! 

Every week during term time the team arrive from 7am setting up outside, cooking bacon and prepping the porridge and drinks. (Summer term May-July we serve pastries and fruit plus drinks) We serve young people on their way to school, adults on school drop-off or on their way to work. Rubbish collectors, street cleaners, Dog walkers - All are welcome!

We have heard from local schools and staff that many children who would not normally have breakfast come into school, more prepared to learn having met the breakfast on the go team! As it has grown over the years, we have received donations from individuals and groups as a thanks and as a way to bless what we are doing, offering a tangible expression of Gods love to our community.

It costs over £5000 per year to run Breakfast on the go! As the years have gone by, the need does not go away it only seems to grow, and at this time of financial difficulty for many, we are finding more and more coming for a free breakfast - Your support would ensure the future provision and support to children and young people in our community.
